# Carrier Wave

> Carrier Wave is amateur radio logging software (Field for iOS, CW Sweep for macOS, Carrier Wave for Android) backed by the activities server at https://activities.carrierwave.app. The server exposes a public JSON API for spots, Reverse Beacon Network data, POTA statistics, park boundaries, contest definitions and radio macros, an OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect provider for third-party apps, and an end-to-end encrypted sync journal for a user's log.

Base URL for the API: https://activities.carrierwave.app (JSON under /v1). Public data needs no authentication. Acting for a user needs an OAuth token; third-party tokens may call only the sync journal and OIDC userinfo. Rate limit is about 10 requests per second; a 429 is plain text with an x-ratelimit-after header.
