Brag Sheets & Share Cards

Periods, presets, customizable stats, hero cards, and map projections

Brag sheets and share cards are branded image cards that visualize your operating activity for sharing on social media, with friends, or for personal records.

Overview

Carrier Wave generates several types of share cards:

  • Activation brag sheets - Summarize a POTA/SOTA/WWFF activation
  • Activity share cards - Summarize a day’s operating activity
  • Session share cards - Summarize any logging session
  • Weekly/monthly/all-time brag sheets - Aggregate statistics over time periods
  • Hero cards - Highlight a single standout achievement

Periods

Brag sheets can cover different time periods:

Weekly

Summarize the past 7 days of activity:

  • Total QSOs, bands, modes
  • Activations completed
  • New DXCC entities worked
  • Streak status

Monthly

Summarize the past 30 days:

  • All weekly metrics aggregated
  • Month-over-month comparison
  • Top contacts by distance

All-Time

Your complete operating history:

  • Lifetime QSO count
  • Total DXCC entities
  • Total states/provinces
  • Parks activated and hunted
  • All-time records (longest distance, most QSOs in a day, etc.)

Presets

Brag sheet presets customize which statistics are highlighted based on your operating style:

General

A balanced overview:

  • QSO count and rate
  • Band and mode distribution
  • Distance statistics
  • DXCC and state counts

DXer

Focused on DX achievement:

  • DXCC entity count and list
  • Longest distance contacts
  • Continent breakdown
  • Band-by-entity matrix
  • Azimuthal map projection

QRP

Highlights low-power efficiency:

  • Power output prominently displayed
  • Watts-per-mile metric
  • Distance achievements relative to power
  • Equipment details (emphasizing QRP rig)

Activator

POTA/SOTA/WWFF focused:

  • Parks activated count
  • Activation success rate
  • QSOs per activation average
  • Total unique parks
  • Program award progress

Hunter

POTA/SOTA hunter statistics:

  • Parks worked count
  • Hunters per day rate
  • States with parks worked
  • Favorite activators (most contacts with)

Stat Categories

Each brag sheet can include statistics from these categories:

Selecting Stats

From the share card preview:

  1. Tap Customize
  2. Toggle individual statistics on/off
  3. Drag to reorder
  4. Preview updates in real time

Hero Cards

Hero cards highlight a single standout achievement:

  • Longest DX contact with distance, callsign, and map
  • Best activation by QSO count or rate
  • Streak milestone (e.g., “100 Days On Air”)
  • New DXCC entity with country flag and contact details
  • QRP record with watts-per-mile achievement

Hero cards use a large-format layout with the achievement prominently displayed and supporting context around it.

Auto-Generated Hero Cards

Carrier Wave automatically generates hero cards when notable achievements are detected:

  • A toast notification offers to create the card
  • Tap to preview and share
  • Cards are also accessible from the Activity feed

Map Projections

Brag sheets include map visualizations. Two projection options are available:

Flat Map (Mercator)

  • Standard rectangular world map
  • QSO locations shown as dots with geodesic arcs
  • Best for global coverage visualization
  • Default for most brag sheets

Azimuthal Map

  • Centered on your station location
  • All distances from center are proportional
  • True bearings from center to any point
  • Best for DXers wanting to show directional coverage
  • Antenna pattern overlay option

Selecting Projection

Tap the map on the share card preview to toggle between flat and azimuthal projections. The selected projection persists for future cards.

Professional Statistician Mode

When enabled in Settings -> POTA -> Professional Statistician Mode, brag sheets gain additional visualizations:

Additional Charts

  • Band distribution chart (pie or bar)
  • QSO rate over time line graph
  • Cumulative distance CDF
  • Cumulative timing CDF
  • RST histograms (R, S, T components separately)
  • Distance and timing box plots

Additional Metrics

  • Statistical summary (mean, median, std dev, percentiles)
  • Peak rate badges (“Best 15 minutes” highlighting)
  • Entity count tables
  • Band-mode cross-tabulation

Share Card Generation

Preview

Before sharing, a preview sheet shows:

  • The generated card image at full resolution
  • Customize button to adjust content
  • Map projection toggle
  • ShareLink button for the iOS share sheet
  • Save to Photos button

Output Format

Share cards are generated as PNG images:

  • Resolution: 2x for Retina displays
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 (landscape) for social media compatibility
  • File size: Typically 200-500 KB
  • Color scheme: Matches your selected theme (dark/light)

Via the iOS share sheet:

  • Messages
